Project Overview:
Artistic and Cultural Development Center (Puerto de La Libertad, EL SALVADOR) works to provide cultural and educational opportunities for the community of Puerta de la Libertad. This is a community of large families and many single mothers attempting to raise their children in an environment of drugs and prostitution. They receive no help from the government and children often must work to help the family. The center promotes human development through artistic and cultural experiences and training. The center provides a school of music for children and youth and arts & crafts workshops for women and children. It addresses labor and human rights issues.
