December 26, 2008-January 4, 2009
Spend a week getting to know a side of Italy that is not typically seen on traditional tours. From gathering with international NGO leaders to meeting a community of nuns that are working to stop human trafficking, you will see first-hand the many ways poverty is addressed in the world.

 Sample activities include:

• Guided visits to St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Pantheon, & the Coliseum.
• Walking tour of several sites in Rome not visited by most travelers
• Dinner with a representative from the UN World Food Programme.
• An afternoon with Dr. Peter Onyango, founder of UVIP, a project to assist orphans with HIV/AIDS in rural Kenya.
• Artistic highlights in Amalfi, Assisi, Florence, Naples, Orvieto, & Siena.
